One of the must see sights when in the eastern Wyoming area is Devil’s Tower. The tower is a massive geological uprising coming out of the prairie. The tower is considered to be the largest columnar jointing made of phonolite porphyry. If you get close to the tower you can see it is made of numerous columns. The columns link together in hexagonal and pentagonal columns. The tower is part of the National Park Service. Devil’s Tower is the considered to be the first national monument. The National Park Service was created 10 years after the Tower was made a protected site. The National Park Service has set up 3 different webcams showing the entrance, an ampitheater view and a view of a prairie dog town at the nps.gov website.
