We rented an Airbnb which had rod iron additional doors and protection tom the windows. I was curious about this at first. I learned to move the extra security though. An ounce of prevention and all that. I was informed by a firefighting buddy (aka Tom) that these are not a good idea for fire safety though. I tam sure they are not. I do like the physical security of them though. The widows are left open most of the time to take advantage of the awesome Caribbean breeze.
