My friend Aldemaro Pietersz is building his forever home on Curaçao. He gave us a tour of the build. Poured formed walls and poured formed concrete ceiling. Went to Playa Porto Maria. This is a new place down the ocean from Daaibooi Beach. Cool weather sign on the way into the beach area (photo included). Nice place. A very big sandy beach. Good restaurant. Had the calamari. Tasty. The beach fee is 5 guilders and the chair use 11 guilders. Around $9.00Continue reading “Playa Porto Maria”

Was able to check out the Basilica Santa Ana today. It appears to have been established in 1752. What an amazing history this building has had. It was in good repair and the doors were wide open to the public. Very nice place.

Stopped by this windsurfing place called Tank 14 across from Caracas bay. They are on a sheltered bay. There were several people out learning to windsurf and some experienced people at it. The staff were friendly. They had the fairly standard food on the menu. Quiet and relaxing place to hang out.

Went through the Curaçao liquor distillery. We took the tour through the buildings. We found out they make many colors of Curaçao liquor. They all taste the same. The colors are changed with flowers which impart no flavor. They do have some they have added flavors to such as chocolate, tamarind and coffee. We alsoContinue reading “Landhuis Cobolobo”
