Warm day for Carnival this year. We were towards the end of the parade. They had walked for about 5 hours by the time they arrived at our location. It seemed like everyone was having a great time still. They sure know how to crank the music up on their semi truck stages! Glad weContinue reading “Carnival time in Curaçao”

Gray minds to color.
I was talking to a German neighbor this morning from Hamburg. He stays here for 90 days and the goes to Columbia a bit before returning to Germany. He works remotely and only requires internet and a phone. He told me he leaves Germany in the winter because the ground is gray, the sky isContinue reading “Gray minds to color.”
Dogs of the world
It seems like dogs all over the world have similar personalities and actions. Curaçao has quite the varieties of dogs. From Bull Mastiff’s to Dachshund’s. Spike here is one of my favorites. He is soooo happy to go out for walks for all the new smells and such. His mannerisms are similar to most happyContinue reading “Dogs of the world”

Car ship
A car transport ship came in. Wow. Probably the tallest and largest ship I have seen here. Amazing. I bet they can fit a lot of cars inside.
Bridge to ???
Sometimes it is good to take the road less travelled. On Valentines Day this year we found this old bridge and trail area in the Piscadera area. Upon first look it was fairly overgrown. Turned into a fun short little trail back to Piscadera Bay. Had a great day.

The ocean puts a patina on the glass and it ends up on the beach. I am told good sea glass has aContinue reading “Sea Glass Hunters.”
Venezuela from Curaçao.
Turns out that when the weather is nice you can see the mountains of Venezuela across the sea. They are around thirty miles away.
Morning swim
It is really nice being close to the ocean. It is a short walk to the ocean every morning. This is the part of the ocean I go to. Usually for about an hour every morning. It is just down the ocean from Avila Beach. Really got lucky with this place and the great location.
